Most farmers in our country have to live with a severe impediment. Their limited access to the markets have forced them to deal with opportunistic middlemen who exploit the farmers every chance they get. The Hasnabad farmer producer company hopes to bring about a change in this state of things and emancipate the farmers by providing them with fair working capital, agriculture technology and greater linkage across markets. This effort will likely bring about a change in the lives of women who currently work for as low as Rs 2000 per month.
Matti Manushulu, is a week long photo exhibition that will highlight the beautiful vistas of a serene rural life and the work women farmers do on the field. The photographers have tried to show us a glimpse of the minute joys and severe conditions that these women endure almost everyday.
The specialty of this exhibition will be that the visitors will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of these women. Any proceeds from the sales of these images will go the Kodangal farmers produce company. This is an excellent opportunity for both photography enthusiasts and socially conscious individuals who are very keen on learning some more about life in rural parts of India.
The exhibition is currently in progress and will continue to be until 21st of August. You can head out to the exhibition anytime at this location. Lamakaan, Off Road No. 1, Banjara Hills, Opposite GVK One, Hyderabad from Aug 13–21, 10am-7pm (goo.gl/maps/YUE194Lg6DQ2)
