Vijayawada is famous for several things. The thing that first comes to mind when someone thinks of 'Vijayawada' is the famous 'Kanakadurga Temple'. The temple attracts thousands of visitors every day. The numbers shoot up into lakhs during festivals. When this happens, the narrow dilapidated road leading to the temple from the city gets jam packed. However, all this is soon to be a thing of the past. Work on the Flyover leading to the temple is moving ahead at a furious pace. Citizens and tourists alike are hopeful that this flyover will reach completion well before the Krishna Pushkaraalu. Once completed, this flyover will ease a major traffic jam point and ease up the road for tourists during the festival seasons.
