Rahul Chaudhari took the Indian Kabaddi scene by storm since the inception of Pro Kabaddi League. He was the Poster Boy for the Pro Kabaddi league since he began his tenure with the Telugu Titans team! He has always been one of the best players in PKL and this lead to him gaining fame quickly.

1. Rahul Chaudhari was born on June 16, 1993 in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh. His love for the game started when he was 13.

2. In his initial days as player, there was no support from his family members. His parents chastised him and told him to focus on his studies instead of wasting time on kabaddi. Once there was a trial held in his village by the Sports Authority of India (SAI), Gandhinagar. Following his selection in these trials he was sent to Gujarat for a training camp.

3. Rahul, who was originally a defender, developed into the deadly attacking raider that he is today at the SAI training camp.

4. He got an offer early on to play for the army team which he let go since he felt it was too early to for him to take on such a big offer. He later joined the Air India team.

5. He lead his state team, Uttar Pradesh, to their very first gold medal at the National Kabaddi Championships held in Bengaluru, 2015.

6. The Telugu Titans coach J Udayakumar spotted him and selected him for the Titans in 2014. Rahul had a spectacular start to his PKL career. With 151 raid points and a success rate of 8.79 raids per match, he grabbed the prestigious ‘Raider of the Tournament’ award in the inaugural season.

7. Rahul continued his splendid performance throughout the four seasons. He completed 400 raid points in PKL and was the first one to achieve this feat.

8. He also led the Indian national Kabaddi team and won the gold medal at the 2014 Asian Beach and was also a part of national team which won the gold medal in the South Asian Games in 2016.

9. His biggest dream is to win the Arjuna award. Someday he hopes to see Kabaddi included in the Olympics.
