The encounter of the two accused of the Suryapet firings seemed to have brought little justice to the devastation that was caused to four families. While 4 of the policemen amongst the 6 injured sacrificed their lives doing their duty, the other policemen wounded in the shootout and the encounter are out of danger and will survive.
The stories of the 4 policemen are heart-wrenching.
SI Siddhaiah suffered 4 bullets. He was unconscious and in surgery when he became a father for the 1st time. His wife delivered his son as he is battled for life in the same hospital. He was being treated in Kamineni Hospital in LB Nagar when he breathed his last!
Home Guard Mahesh Kumar didn’t even have a chance to defend himself, ambushed by bullets and died on the spot, survived by wife and two children in the firing
Constable Lingaiah who was driving the police party died a hero. Strength to his wife of three years and his 18-month-old baby girl.
Constable Chevugoni Nagaraj who died in the encounter was only married for 8 months. His wife and father reached the hospital hoping he was well, but little did they know that he died on the spot.
