Pamarthy Shankar is a caricaturist and cartoonist born in 1963 in Nagireddypalli village in Nalgonda Dist. He graduated from Osmania University. He currently draws for Sakshi, daily newspaper in Hyderabad.

He has won several national and international awards creating caricature art both nationally and internationally. The uniqueness of his cartoons and caricatures is not in drawing the attention of viewers by nagging or mocking but instead through charm and exaggeration of the subject persons prominent features. His caricatures of prominent people have received wide accolades and earned him a lot prominence.

He won the first prize at the prestigious Grand Pix World Press Cartoon exhibition 2014. The World Press Cartoon exhibition showcases the best international cartoons published every year. This includes, works by finalists of each one of the three categories. In addition to prize-winning works as well as works which received honorable mentions. This Portugal award, considered the cartoonist's Nobel. He is the first Asian to win the prestigious prize.
