Sourav Ghosal was born on the 10th August 1986 in Kolkata, schooling antha kuda Kolkata loni Lakshmipat Singhania Academy lo jarigindi, ah tharvatha Chennai shift ayi akkada squash medha passion tho ICL Squash Academy lo join ayi coaches Major Maniam and Cyrus Poncha dhagara training thiskunnaru.

Saurav got married his love of life, Diya Pallikal who is sister of Dipika Pallikal Karthik on the 1st of February in 2017. He achieved his first medal in squash championship held at 2006 Doha Asian Games and was awarded Arjuna Award by President of India.
His first major title was the German Open Under -17 in May in 2002 and he won the Dutch Open two months later. In 2013, Saurav became one of the first Indian squash player to reach the quarterfinals of the World Championship.
