He was moved at the plight of the weavers in Telugu states and offered to sign on as the brand ambassador of the handloom industry. He praised the art of weaving greatly, calling it a national . This will certainly play its part in improving the situation of weavers in the Telugu states. Weavers in the Telugu states today are not able to earn enough to sustain themselves from weaving. Not being able to make the switch to any other economically viable profession, weavers are resorting to suicide.
