Hyderabad All Set To Have India's First Ever "Center For Animal Laws" That Will Fight For Animal Rights!

Animal cruelty is the one thing that people need to focus right now. To protect them we need to have better laws which state cruelty towards animals as a serious crime. To achieve this Nalsar University combined with Union Minister for Women and Child Welfare, Maneka Gandhi have opened our country’s first Centre for Animal Law in Hyderabad. Human Society International India along with Nalsar University will run this centre.

The uniqueness of this centre is that students can conduct research and advocate animal protection rights. Maneka Gandhi, who was also an environmentalist and animal protection crusader, expresses her happiness and content on inaugurating this centre in Hyderabad. In order to strike a balance between ecology and economic, she stressed on the need to give animals an economic value. She expresses her concern about the extinction of various animal species and the lack of efforts to protect them. She stresses on saving Tigers and also animal protection around Kutch area. This centre at Nalsar works on striving for an ecological balance.

The centre will develop a curriculum on animal welfare laws, including developing topics for research. It will also conduct workshops on animal laws and animal welfare issues with judicial magistrates, animal welfare advocates, law enforcement agencies and other issues in the government.

This is definitely a welcome move and we sincerely hope this changes the sad state of animals protection in our country.
