Hyderabad Soon To Have "Amazon's Biggest Fulfillment Center" Of India!

Here’s good news for all the online shoppers out there. The largest e-commerce company "Amazon" is all set to open its biggest fulfilment centre of the country in Hyderabad. You don’t have to worry about ordering stuff weeks before anymore. Amazon customers especially those in the prime category can expect their packages to be delivered within a day or two. The fulfilment centre’s inauguration was done on Thursday near the Shamshabad International Airport.

This 4 lakh sq feet centre provides 2.1 million cubic feet of storage space and will be the fifth such centre in Telangana. This is going to benefit the 10,000 sellers enrolled, said by Akhil Saxena, Vice President, India Customer Fulfilment at the inaugural launch. This centre was built in less than a year and can handle up to 1,000 trucks a day is totally digitised with a 1.6 km long conveyer belt for moving all kinds of bar coded goods with packaging material supplied. Amazon right now totally focuses on their sellers and buyers and trying to innovate on their methods.

Amazon also has FCs at Medchal (80,000 sft dedicated big appliances facility), Tolichowki and Kompally. Incidentally, Amazon will also be setting up its largest tech development centre outside of its headquarters Seattle at Hyderabad. The reason they chose Hyderabad is its geographical location, infrastructure, connectivity and policies can be an added attraction. The biggest fulfilment centre will be opened sometime next year.

Apart from providing rapid services to users, it is also estimated to provide a large number of direct and indirect jobs through these storage facilities.
