A great news to all the women living in Hyderabad. Hyderabad has emerged as one of the safest metropolitan cities for women to live in. In a survey conducted by an online rental company, Hyderabad was rated first in women’s safety. It is followed by Pune and Bengaluru.
A majority of the respondents surveyed were from Madhapur, Gachibowli, Shamshabad and other such areas. Though, rents are comparatively low in Hyderabad, women here are willing to pay a few more bucks keeping safety in mind. This survey was conducted in association with Nestaway, that revealed the preferences of both men and women when they choose their homes. Where proximity to workplace and affordability are the key factors for men, safety tops the list of preferences when it comes to women. In Hyderabad, it was stated that women easily found homes that they are willing to stay considering the safety aspects.
According to the survey, it is only in Hyderabad that the difference between the rents payed by women and men is very little. Madhapur, Gachibowli and Kondapur being the prime locations for rental homes across Hyderabad, as majority are from IT and finance sectors. In Hyderabad, women were found to be willing to live more than five or 10 kilometres away from their workplace. Feeling safe in a new city is the first priority for young working professionals. The survey also stated that they have also taken into account the number of work relocations to Hyderabad and acceptability of women working in night shifts.
Though there are some instances which can go against it but overall Hyderabad is much safe place to live for women. It's a very good news to all the folks in Hyderabad considering the work done by Hyderabad police and the SHE teams. The decrease in the number of eve teasing cases also proves this point.
