Meet The Man Who Made Fixing Hyderabad’s Potholes His Retirement Plan!
Ah, retirement! Such a wonderful time to chill out and probably use all the saved up money to buy a house at the suburbs and lie in an armchair and complain how the world can be a better place for the rest of our life. Apparently that isn’t an ideal retirement. This awesome human being, Gangadhar Tilak Katnam, made it his mission in life to repair the potholes in the city after having a bad experience with one of them. Someone should be taking notes… *cough* GHMC*cough*. GD4 He once hit a pothole and the water filled in it splashed some kids on the street. The guilt led him back to the place to repair the pothole. Be prepared to be amazed. He has already repaired 1,125 potholes in the city! Pothole 1 He works for this cause voluntarily and solely out of interest using own resources. The Good Samaritan bug bit him so hard that he gave up his job as a railway employee and took this responsibility of saving the city from potholes all by himself. GD3 He carries his own material to make these repairs in his car and drives around the city finding places to fix. No job, and doesn’t accept donations or funds. How does he buy the material you ask? His son who was actually actually called upon to make him see sense in his actions, got inspired! So, he began to aid Gangadhar in doing this good work. GD2 Who says one person can’t make a difference?!
