It is great news for all the Hyderabadi folks as Union Tourism Ministry had announced National Award to Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) for Best Civic Management of Tourist Destinations, for the year 2015-2016. The award was given based on the services provided by GHMC and the residents’ satisfaction over it. Soon the award will be handed over in New Delhi by President Ramnath Kovind.
It majorly concentrates on the maintenance and services near popular tourist destinations. Also taken into note are the distributions of lakhs of dustbins, regular cleaning up of garbage points, and arranging civic services under Corporate Social Responsibilities. And also cleaning up of wastage from Tourist destinations twice a day promptly. GHMC proved to work the best at all these aspects. All this information was provided to Union Tourism Ministry in a 50-page report sent by GHMC officials.
GHMC is known for its work on keeping the city clean. From arranging 109 bio toilets and 15 'she toilets' to providing 3383 taps for drinking water, it has been working on making residents lives easier. GHMC’s work on road widening, Swachh Bharat campaigns and Pedestrian project near Charminar were taken into consideration by Union Tourism Ministry. Many services like traffic regulation, arranging CC cameras and Medical emergencies were applauded by them. Cheers to GHMC for making the city cleaner by passing days!
