For the first time ever, tech giant Apple will be visiting a campus in India for recruitment. And the college that Apple is visiting for campus recruitment in IIIT Hyderabad. The students of IIT Hyderabad are delighted by the news of “Apple campus placement drive”.
"We are elated that Apple has decided to come for our campus placements this year. We are not sure of the kind of profiles that the company will be offering. However, it will provide an opportunity to the graduating students to showcase their skills before representatives of the firm," said TV Devi Prasad head of placements at IIITH, to a news agency.
Apart from Apple, the other companies that are joining this recruitment process at IIIT-H this year are Microsoft, Google and Philips. It was also reported that officials have observed a rise in the number of companies hiring for Artificial intelligence (AI), automation and deep learning, data sciences this placement season. Nearly, 350 students (B Tech, BE, M Tech, MSc research students) have registered for the drive. IIIT-H is an autonomous university, founded in 1998. It was set up as a not-for-profit public private partnership (N-PPP) and is the first IIIT to be set up under this model in India.
In fact, in 2010, IIIT-H has a record of highest average compensation of Rs 9 lakh for undergraduate students, according to the IIIT-H website.
