Pradma sri Dr.Allu Ramalingaiah is undoubtedly Telugu industry’s legendary comedian. He acted in more than 1000 films and tickled the Telugu audience with his mark comedy. Ramalingaiah began his film career in 1953 with Puttillu and his last film Jai was in the year before his death. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 1990 by the Government of India, and received the Raghupathi Venkaiah Award in 2001. Allu Ramalingaiah was also a homeopathic doctor and a freedom fighter. A Freedom fighter, Allu was arrested by the British colonial police during Quit India Movement. He had featured in dramas for Praja Natya Mandali before joining films and was awarded the title 'Hasya Kala Prapoorna' by Nritya Kala Mandali.
