Also, there are two characters that have left an impression in everyone’s minds – one is Sai Pallavi and the other is Sai Pallavi’s father character. Though Sai Pallavi as Malar is known to many much before the release of Fidaa, not many people know about the man who portrayed the role of Sai Pallavi’s father – Triupuraraneni Sai Chand.

It was even India’s official entry to the Karlovy Vary Film Festival in 1980 as well as Cairo and Sydney Film Festivals The film even went on to be listed among CNN-IBN’s list of hundred greatest Indian films of all time.
Sai Chand is famous for parallel movies. He made Pandita Parameshwara Sastry Veelunaamaa as a telefilm. Some of his documentaries include: Grain storage, Dry-land agriculture, Rice production technology, information technology for common man. Sai Chand made documentary films on noted film legends like LV Prasad, Singeetam Srinivasa Rao, Suryakantham, Anjalidevi, Bapu Ramana duo among others. His last movie “Ankuram” was released in 1993.
