Madhapur ,the home of Hyderabad IT industry, is the one of the largest IT parks in India. The area that we know now as Madhapur has a long history. Here is a brief history of the place we now know as Madhapur.
In the early 1990s, Madhapur, was a small, quiet village, now which has transformed into a modern IT hub and having the highest concentration of IT companies in Hyderabad. According to locals, Madhapur was earlier known as Madhava Puram. ‘Madhava’ is another name for Lord Krishna and ‘Puram’ means village. In its earlier days, villagers inhabiting this area used to frequently worship Lord Krishna and eventually the name ‘Madahava Puram’ caught on. Over the years, this sleepy hollow of a village became Madhapur.
Since the advent of advent of HITEC City, Madhapur has grown by leaps and bounds. Top IT/ITES and Telco companies from all around the world are located in this once remote suburb, fueling the software and BPO industries. Cyber Towers, Cyber Gateway and Cyber Pearl were the first IT structures to come up. Later on big names like Broadcom, Qualcomm, CSC, Tata Communications, Accenture, Tata Consultancy Services, Deloitte, Amazon.com, Oracle Corporation, IBM, Dell, Google, Verizon and many others have made the city their business center.
