On May 3, the Telangana IT Minister K.T.Rama Rao announced the formation of the State Innovation Cell under the state innovation policy. Here are the most important of your questions answered regarding this important institution.
What is it all about?
It is to create a single window for administering all incentives announced in the Telangana State Innovation Policy for start-ups and incubators. Essentially, it works alongside the T-Hub.
Where is the Cell located?
The SIC is currently located at IIIT-Hyderabad and led in the interim by Ramesh Loganathan, Professor of Co-Innovation.
How does this initiative work?
The Cell nurtures and enables the early stage start-up ecosystem from seeding new start-ups to nurturing them through taking their start-up to market. It will also provide direction to start-ups currently based in T-Hub
Who does this initiative target?
Various sectors, including pharma and agriculture, will be benefited with the cell.
Is there anything else special about the Cell?
One initiative of the Cell is to create a network of co-working spaces so that start-ups can support each other and grow together.
