All 8 Quentin Tarantino’s Movies Ranked From Worst To Best

Avi naa engineering days.. Appudappude.. Entra idhi Telugu cinema scene ra‘, anukunna rojulu avi..

Ala mellaga 2 TB hard disk full ga Hollywood movies chustu, chustu.. Engineering third year ki vachesa. Correct ga appudu chusa, Na life lo first ever Quentin Tarantino movie, laptop lo.. That is, ‘Inglorious Basterds‘. Anthe, Chakkaga Mind***k avvatam jarigindhi. And that’s how and when I started watching all the other Quentin Tarantino’s movies.

So, As his 9th film, ‘Once Upon A Time In Hollywood‘ releases tomorrow in India.. I thought let’s try ranking all his previous 8 films from worst (least best) to best.. Cuz’ why not!?

But Ilanti ‘ranked’ articles internet lo chalane untayi.. Vaatiki deeniki theda em untadi ra ante.. Avi anni obviously English lo chala formal ga untayi.. Whereas, Here I’ll try to explain my personal experience (since ranked ante ne my personal choice of order annattu) with the film and why I loved the film in Tinglish.

Also for those who don’t know who Tarantino is and who haven’t watched his films, I’ll also mention where the films are available to stream (if available). Let’s begin.

8. Death Proof, 2007

Alfred HitchcockPsycho‘ nunchi, Monna ochina Kumbalangi Nights daaka, Manam rakarakaala psycho lani chusam.. But ee movies lo psycho chaala variety. Car eskoni neat ga murder chesi escape avudam anukuntadu. Although this is not the first Tarantino’s films I watched, I quite liked the gore action and violence in the film.

Here’s what Tarantino’s has said about Death Proof in ‘The Hollywood Reporter’s Roundtable in 2013:

“‘Death Proof’ has got to be the worst movie I ever make. And for a left-handed movie, that wasn’t so bad, all right? – so if that’s the worst I ever get, I’m good. But I do think one of those out-of-touch, old, limp, flaccid-dick movies costs you three good movies as far as your rating is concerned.”

7. The Hateful Eight, 2015

The ONLY Tarantino’s film I’ve watched in theatres till now. But the thing is, Ee movie chuse appatike, I’ve already watched all of his previous 7 movies. So I know what I was in for ani, Before entering into the theatre. But the reviews and critics were harsh for this film and said, ‘This film is only for Tarantino fans, And not for everyone‘. And I think I agree with them.

6. Jackie Brown, 1997

Nenu laaaast chusina Tarantino idhi. I’ve watched it after watching The Hateful Eight. And I found one intersting things in the film.. We all know Samuel L Jackson, And enjoy his Nick Fury role in Avengers franchise. But the thing is, It’s even more fun to watch Samuel L Jackson in a Tarantino movie.

OK, For those who haven’t watched any of his films, And are looking forward to start watching.. Ikkada nunchi list lo oche next 5 films are the films that literally influenced the filmmakers across the world in different ways. Its like, Ee five aithe pakkaaa chudali, Everyone.

5. Kill Bill (Volume 1 & 2), 2003 & 2004

REVENGE‘, Ane concept meedha manam India lo various languages lo enno films chusi untam.. But I guess this the film that has set the standards for all the revenge films ever made. Enough said.

4. Django Unchained, 2012

OK.. First things first. Mana Telugu cinemallo ante, 7 songs untayi kabatti cinema 3 hours ante chusestham kani, Tarantino’s are the first films that I’ve watched with 3 hours of runtime, that too with just ‘plot’ going on and on. Slavery, Racial Vengeance laanti deep and twisted tale ni, Intha free style lo, weird humor add chesi teeyatam is, ‘Just Tarantino things‘. Available to watch both on Netflix and YouTube.

3. Reservoir Dogs, 1992

If you’re ever going to start watching all his films back to back.. Start with this one. Cuz’

1. Unna annitilo ki, Idhi 1st time watching lo ne artham avvudhi.
2. Oka movie lo ‘just conversations’ tho scenne ni entha hooking ga teeyocho telsukoni, Shock avvatam kosam.

Let’s elaborately talk about the second point.. Reservoir Dogs lo chala scenes (including climax) are just looooong and unending (but weirdly interesting conversations). Ilanti scenes aithe clearly manam mundhu ye movies lo nu chudaledhu. Tarwata tatwata, Ee movie chusi, Worldwide chala great directors, Ilanti scenes ni movies lo pettaru. For example, Anurag KashyapUgly‘ lo, Police Station lo scene. (I don’t wanna spoil, So won’t reveal for those who haven’t watched). Available on Netflix.

2. Inglorious Basterds, 2009

As I’ve said in the beginning, This is the first ever Tarantino film I’ve watched. So you can imagine the fun I’ve had while watching. ‘Saving Private Ryan‘ ani, ‘Apocalypse Now‘ ani.. Ilanti chaala war movies chusa kani, This is a crazy crazy movie. Also, indaka Django Unchained gurinchi matlade appudu, Anni cheppi, oka daacha, To say it here, It’s the genius actor, Christopher Waltz (Who plays Hans Lada in the film). Non-Stop, Flow break avvani scenes ni intha beautiful ga portray cheyagalige one of the very few actors. The films is available to stream on Netlfix.

1. Pulp Fiction, 1994

Of course. Obviously, Clearly. Pulp Fiction would take the first place without any doubts. And there are maaaany reasons. But one fine reason would be the fact that how frikkin’ ‘cool‘ the movie is. Crime scenes, Blood scenes chusinappudu ‘Navvatam‘ isn’t our first instinct. But this is the first time I’ve ever laughed during a fight/crime scene. And this is the first time I’ve discovered that ‘Black Comedy‘ ane oka genre untadi ani. Ippatiki meeku telsina edhanna filmmaker intlo or laptop lo Pulp Fiction posters unnai ante, Just imagine the impact the film had left on people.

Let’s end the article with few of his greatest quotes.

‘Violence is one of the most fun things to watch.’

‘I loved history because to me, history was like watching a movie.’

‘When people ask me if I went to film school I tell them, ‘no, I went to films.’

And tomorrow his 9th (probably his last or last but 1) film, ‘Once Upon A Time In Hollywood’ releases in India, Almost a month after it released in various parts of the world (July 26th). I’m really hoping for a crazy. crazy experience, Just by looking at the runtime and ratings of the film.
