Tollywood has undoubtedly levelled up in promoting films. From Teasers to Trailers, promotional videos these days are coming up with crazy names. Vijay Deverakonda – the man of the hour – is known for his unique promotional ideas has decided to do something crazy in promoting his upcoming film “TAXIWAALA”. After “First Gear”, Vijays’s latest video is “The Dream Behind Taxiwaala”, where 4 ROWDY kids select the Taxiwaala script for him.
The video shows four kids trying to do away Vijay with his Arjun Reddy image. They express their disappointment on them missing out watching Arjun Reddy in theatres, because it was A-certified. Vijay then promises to do a film where it has nothing to do with certification. The kids’ agenda is to discard the alcohol bottles and ice cubes, change his foul language and make him workout to get in better shape. While Vijay takes a shower, they select his next script — ‘Taxiwaala’ and that’s how they complete ‘Mission Vijay’. The super cool 5:30-min video, with over 2.5 million digital views, gives the glimpse of transformation of Vijay’s character from Arjun Reddy to a Taxi driver!
Proudly stating, the concept and execution for “THE DREAM BEHIND TAXIWAALA” was done by THE STAGE – the creative services wing of our very own Chai Bisket. The Stage is an arm where we provide creative services for films, TVC and videos for brands, scripts for Award shows and events (IIFA Utsavam and SIIMA were done by us)
Talking about the ‘reconstruction’ video of “The Dream Behind Taxiwaala” – this particular video was made by a young filmmaker Kodanda Ram Sompalli. This 25-year old lad is extremely passionate about film making and wanted to surprise the audience and make them ‘feel’ the subject, not telling them what to think. That’s how we now know that Vijay Deverakonda is no more the ‘ARJUN REDDY GUY’, but an actor he wants the world to know with every movie he does!
Interestingly, Ram has also made “Little Thief” with ChaiBisket – A beautiful tale about a kid robbing people of their most important thing in their day to day life. Haven’t seen it? Check it out here:
