Sravya Kalyanapu is a name lesser known to many of us. But now she is now all set to do our state and Canada proud by participating in the Miss World Canada beauty pageant in July. Joining the likes of many beautiful and talented Indian women like Aishwarya Rai, Sushmitha Sen, and Priyanka Chopra she will also be competing for the prestigious title.

She was born in Khammam and moved to Canada at a young age of ten. She studied in St Joseph Convent School in Adilabad district before moving to Canada. The school rejoiced in her achievements by putting up banners in their premises and applauding her. She is fondly remembered as studious girl and showed an active inclination towards cultural events. Her fans in the district were not behind and put up banners to celebrate and congratulate her on her accomplishments. Currently she is studying chemical engineering at the University of Alberta.

She has won the title “Miss Northern Alberta” when she had just been into modelling for three years only. Apart from modelling she is also a co-founder of a lipstick manufacturing company “Seleste Organic Lipsticks” that provides an organic alternative to the chemical lipsticks available in the market.

Along with being the beauty queen she is, she also indulges in noble acts like taking care of the educational needs of the children in her hometown and etc. According to her blog she has worked with several charitable organizations such as “Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation”, “Canadian Cancer Society,” Food Bank and “Engineers Without Borders”. She also believes that education is a powerful means to women empowerment and gender equality; this proves that true beauty lies within.
