Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao (KTR), Industries and IT Minister of Telangana, is one person who is for sure redefining the meaning of ‘politician’. Breaking the regular notion that few ministers or politicians speak only rubbish, KTR’s incredible speech at the recently held GES 2017 tells us why he is a special leader. KTR speaks about the power of ideas and what India needs today — our own local solutions catered to the diversity and challenges that lie before us, unique to our society alone. He stresses on how we do not need venture capitalists but ‘adventure capitalists’, and outlines a 3D mantra – Digitize, Decarbonize and Decentralize for a paradigm shift.
Road to GES: Beyond Boundaries was a unique conference where for the first time ever INK (India’s leading thought-leadership platform), T-Hub (India’s largest startup incubator), NITI Aayog (National Institute for Transforming India, GOI) and Telangana Government came together as hosts.
KTR’s eloquent speech starts off with an impactful statement that this is going to be India’s decade as well as India’s century all thanks to its innovation and think force. He goes on to say, with more than 50% of population less than the 27 years, India has got the world’s largest think force right now. His aim, KTR says, is to see India join the list of first world nations in the next 10 years. What stole the limelight is his idea for ‘Indian solutions’ to local problems and his example backing that. Besides, he also speaks about RTA-M Wallet and how the start-up has changed the lives of people using it.
The Minister ended his talk on a inspiring quote, “The best way to predict the future is to create it. We live in an age of uncertainty where ideas are the only tools to help”. Check out his powerful oration.
