International taxi service giant UBER announced the launch of motor bike taxis in Hyderabad from next month. After Bengaluru and Gurugram, Hyderabad is the third city in India to get two wheeler taxi service. uberMOTO will go live in Hyderabad from January 2017, and will be one of the most affordable transportation options in the city, with fares as low as Rs 20 for the first 3 kms and Rs 5 per km thereafter.
In addition, Uber and Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to help extend the reach of the metro using uberMOTO. Uber India President Amit Jain and Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd Managing Director N. V. S. Reddy signed the MoU in the presence of state Information Technology and Municipal Administration Minister K. T. Rama Rao.
UberMOTO gives riders an affordable and convenient motorcycle ride at the push of a button, through the Uber app. Riders receive driver and bike details just as they do for other Uber rides, as well as all standard safety features before, during and after the ride including GPS tracking, two-way feedback and the ability to share trip details with family and friends.
For booking the two wheeler taxi the customers must have to wear a helmet.
