Jagriti Yatra is a 15-day long, national train journey that will take you 8000 kilometers across the length and breadth of India, to understand and build the India of smaller towns and villages through enterprise.

What do we learn on this Journey?
JY is a place where you come across many young leaders who are striving to make a difference. You meet role models, mentors, change makers who made difference in thousands of lives. This is a place where you meet hundreds of strangers on day 1 but end up with the best experiences of a life time. Here in this 15 day train journey, you will be visiting 12 different places. The destinations include Mumbai, Hubli, Bengaluru, Madurai, Chennai, Visakhapatnam, Berhampur, Rajgir, Deoria, Delhi, Tilonia, and Ahmedabad.

The yatris will visit different places in the respected destinations and interact with the people there. There will also be panel discussions where the panelists will be discussing on seven verticals of development like Agriculture, Education, Energy, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Water & Sanitation, Arts, Culture & Sports.

Life on the train:
Life on the train is as busy as it gets! With a packed schedule of debates, presentations and conversations, and a blend of art, music, and poetry, Yatris find themselves fully involved at all times. There will be vegetarian food, and staff that takes pride in serving it. The sleep accommodation will be separate for male and female yatris. There will be Onboard Doctors (Male and Female) in case of medical emergencies. In this journey, you can see the struggle for bathing with cold water, fighting for charging points, craving for non-vegetarian food, but the end of the day the yatris will experience something which will be useful for a life time.

How do we get involved?
Yatris selected for the Yatra can either be a ‘Participant’ or a ‘Facilitator’. Participants are young candidates above 20 years who want to ‘be the change they want to see’ and have the potential to become entrepreneurs and change-makers. Facilitators are experienced professionals, over 25 years of age, who are keen to join the movement for Enterprise-led development. They may be entrepreneurs, aspiring entrepreneurs or other professionals. Interested candidates may apply online by filling up the main application form from the Jagriti Yatra website. The application consists of a series of essay-type questions designed to ascertain your suitability for the Yatra. There will be scholarships based on the merit of the application. This year’s yatra is scheduled in last week of December. Isn’t this interesting? If you are thinking to have a break and looking for some life time experience this is for you. As their anthem says “Yaaarrr chaloo”
