Jagdalpur, a 8-hour drive from Visakhapatnam by road or you can also reach there by train. The train journey offers you some good scenic views as it goes via Araku line. It reaches Jagdalpur, a popular and well-connected city in the state of Chhattisgarh by 8 in the morning.
10 AM – TIRATHGARH FALLS
Jagdalpur, the city lies in the center between two waterfalls. 40km from Jagdalpur, we have Tirathgarh falls. One of the most scenic waterfalls in India, Tirathgarh Waterfalls is located in the Kanger Valley National Park. The flowing water divides into multiple falls which make a marvelous vista. The landscape around the waterfall is dotted with forests adding an aura of lush greenness to the sight. There is a small temple of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati opposite the falls attributing religious importance to the place. The Tirathgarh Falls is 300 feet in height. One can spend a good time if you are traveling in a group. By 1 pm, we can start back to Chitrakoot which is around 80kms from there. The dhabas in between offer you some delicious foods. The butter nans and butter chicken there are a must try.
3:30PM – THE INDIAN NIAGARA – CHITRAKOOT FALLS
The King of waterfalls in Chhattisgarh, Chitrakoot Waterfall is formed by the Indravati River, a tributary of the Narmada River, in the Vindhya Ranges. The place is a 45km drive from Jagdalpur.It will take us around 1.5 hours to reach there by road from Tirathgarh. Different from the other waterfalls, the Chitrakoot Fall is more impressive in width than in height. The breadth varies with the gush of water. It widens up to 150 meters with the increasing water flow during monsoons, making the waterfall the widest in India. That is why the Chitrakoot Fall is called the Niagara Falls of India. The monsoon is the best time to experience the wild beauty of Chitrakoot Waterfalls. There are several adventurous sports nearby.

There are also several other waterfalls, national parks nearby. Dantewada, one of the 52 shakti peetas are some of the other tourist attractions which one can visit. Though this area is terrorist prone, it will be adventurous as well as refreshing. The return train to Vizag will be at 10:30 in the morning.
