People in Hyderabad are sleeping less and their sleep cycle has gotten more and more disturbed.
With unhealthy lifestyle and stress becoming major factor, 79% Hydebarabadis are suffering with insomnia.
The Survey says:
1. 48% people sleep between 11PM to 1AM.
2. 25% people sleep less than 7 hours a day.
3. 79% people have insomnia.
4. 89% people wake up 1 -2 times a night.
5. 81% of people feel sleepy only 1 – 3 days a week.
6. 28% of people are watching shows on their laptops or smart phones.
7. 23% of people are worrying about work or their finances.
The survey was conducted by Wakefit.co, a sleep solutions company. The year-long, ‘Great Indian Sleep Score Card 2019’ surveyed residents from Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad. Around 16000 people took part in the survey that was conducted on World Sleep Day, March 15.
The reason for many people staying up late till late night is the fact that, they’re hooked to their phones/laptops or worrying about the work and finances.
The survey also says that 90% of people use their phones right before hitting the bed and 81% of people feel sleepy at work, 1 to 3 days a week.
What’s our loss in this?
This is not just about being tired because of lack of sleep, you may also have to deal with major problems such as back pains.
Speaking about the issue, Ankit Garg, CEO of Wakefit.Co, said, ‘Lack of sleep can lead to serious issues like, high blood pressure, increased anxiety. What’s concerning is, most people don’t even consider, Sleeping disorder as a real problem.’
