His performances in the latest first-class season earned him a berth for the last two tests in the ongoing India-England series. After the day, he talked his heart out in the press meet. He said that he was very happy with his debut innings but it is just the beginning and there are many more to come. When asked about how he handled the pressure when wickets were falling at the other end, he replied “I got used to this pressure in first-class cricket. I come from Andhra Ranji team where we were put to the test by better teams. I used to take the responsibility and score runs for my team. That helped me a lot”
