Rejoice, Dog Lovers! India’s First Ever Dog Park Is All Set To Open In Hyderabad & It Looks Crazy

Hyderabad has always been home for innovative and cool things. A few months ago ‘World’s First Ever IT Park for Differently Abled People.‘ opened in Hyderabad

And now there is a park that is specially made and dedicated for ‘dogs’. Yes, you read that right! You can take your dog for a walk, play, and do other recreational activities in a space that is created just for them.

Our country’s first ever Dog Park is all set to be inaugurated this week.

KTR garu, IT & Urban Development Minister announced it via Twitter and said,

What’s great to know is, The park is spread across 1.3 acres along with,
exclusive play & training areas with equipments.
an amphitheatre (an outdoor arena),
a separate enclosure for small and big dogs
benches that are shaped like bones
areas for exercise
splash pools & fountains.
It even has a clinic.

Not just that, the standards of the park have met the international standards for pets and to be certified by Kennel Club of India.

This pet park is supposedly the brainchild of IAS officer Harichandana, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Zonal Commissioner, who developed it on the lines of pet parks which are common in foreign countries.

The park has a dog training centre where certified professionals would train the pets. It also has a dog splash pool and an exclusive dog play area. There is a para vet clinic where veterinary professionals would administer to the medical needs of the dogs. And for regular visitors, there is a separate walkway and benches to relax,” Rajendra Kumar, an official with the Urban Biodiversity Wing of the GHMC, said in an interview.

Pet parks are common in foreign countries, but in India, we do not have any such facility and pets are usually not allowed into regular parks. There is an entry ticket fee for both dogs and visitors to the park” he added.

The park also has special provisions for differently abled people and will be provided with dog helpers to exercise and enjoy outdoor activities without the fear of accidents.

What was earlier a dump yard, lying waste for nothing for the past 6 months is now converted into a beautiful pet park with a cost of 1.1 crore. It took the government around 6 months to build it.

Located near Hotel Radisson in Gachibowli. Here’s how stunning it looks, have a look:
