College life is just one enormous blur. Your life is all about attending classes, assignments, project reports and last minute cramming to get through your exams. But what does all this prepare you for? The real world is just a reflection of your choices in college. You can either choose to be another pawn in the everyday rat race or stand out by pursuing your passion.
 
Startups are all about pumping fuel to your passion, to engineer a unique product and put it out in the market. College education has several shortcoming when it comes to the current internet generation. This is one of the main reasons for the rift in supply and demand situation of jobs in the country. The ongoing startup mantra is “Start Lean and Fail Fast”. Startups are a constant process of trial and error. You need to put in great amounts of energy into it. This kind of business model usually drives away the less ambitious.
 
Starting up while in college will let you focus more on learning real life skills building actual products that people use. Having grades as an ultimate goal will probably help you get a job at the end of your course. A startup on the other hand will open up new avenues, and eventually make you self sustainable. Your college startup is not about becoming an overnight success, it is about learning. Even if your startup fails you’ve learned something valuable. These skills can be put to great use later in life while you pursue higher studies.
 
A startup is the best way to help you develop a Learning Vs Earning mindset. Meeting new people, interacting with accelerators, incubators, angel investors will broaden your horizon. You will surely look at the world differently. Eventually, you will see success and probably go on to become one of the inspirational startup founders that our country desperately needs.
